Locations Autumn 2004 The Quaker Meeting House, Churchtown The Quaker Meeting House is situated on a quiet lane way with ample parking off the Lower Churchtown Road. Recently refurbished, the centre is over 100 years old and now boasts a suite of rooms and underfloor heating. Please note there is a signpost opposite the entrance. 1. From Dundrum crossroads: go under Luas Bridge, towards Churchtown (coming from town turn right, from Dundrum Village turn left and from Taney Road continue straight). At the third set of traffic lights (before the petrol station) turn right. Continue on this road, through the traffic lights. The Quaker Meeting House is on the right hand side, with a signpost opposite the entrance. 2. From The Dropping Well Pub: From Miltown Direction: take a left at the junction before the pub. Continue up the hill, and 200m before the first set of traffic lights notice the sign on the right hand side. The Quaker Meeting House is on the left. 3. From The Dropping Well Pub: From Dartry/Rathgar/Rathmines: take a right at the traffic lights adjacent to the pub. Continue up the hill and 200m before the first set of traffic lights notice the sign on the right hand side. The Quaker Meeting House is on the left. 4. From Nutgrove Shopping Centre: Drive towards Dundrum on Nutgrove Avenue. At the traffic lights on Churchtown Road, turn right. Take the next left turn after the petrol station. This is the Lower Churchtown Road. Continue to the traffic lights. The Quaker Meeting House is 200m ahead on the right-hand side. 5. From Rathgar Village: Take the turn towards Mount Carmel Hospital, continue past the hospital along Orwell Road. At the T junction take a left turn. The Quaker Meeting House is 200m on the right hand side. 6. By Public Transport: From city centre by bus - take no. 14A from Fleet Street. It is third stop after Dropping Well, just before the turning (and traffic lights) for Orwell Road. There is a post box beside the bus stop. From city centre by LUAS: Take the Sandyford line. Exit at the station before Dundrum. Once you have exited the LUAS, turn left, the Meeting House is 100yds on the left. From Ballinteer by bus: Take No. 14A to Lwr Churchtown Road, and exit at the stop after junction with Orwell Road (at LUAS station). From Rathgar by Bus: Take No. 14 to Mount Carmel Hospital. Walk along Orwell Road to end. Turn left, building is 100yds on right. 7. Cycling: there are cycle lanes from the city centre to Miltown and also along the Upper Churchtown Road. Gort Muire is situated on a roundabout on the Ballinteer Road. It is through gates and walls, with fields either side. The room is situated towards the back of the centre - enter through reception on the LHS of the house. The room has parquet floors and overlooks a rose garden and the Dublin mountains. Please note there are apartments being built in front of Gort Muire, called "Wycham Place". 1. From Dublin City Centre - take the road to Dundrum (goes through
Raneleigh). When you reach Dundrum, go straight along the Dundrum By-Pass.
You will see signs for the M50. Follow these! 2. From the M50 Motorway - go Southbound. The last exit (at the end) is Ballinteer. When you come down the slip-road, at the roundabout go STRAIGHT (following signs for Dundrum/Sandyford). At the next roundabout go STRAIGHT, and through the traffic lights. At the next roundabout, take a RIGHT - this is Gort Muire. 3. From Sandyford Industrial Estate - go through the Industrial estate, following the signs for the M50. When you get to the large roundabout (the third you will meet, just after you turn left at traffic lights - there will be two building sites adjacent) go STRAIGHT (the Dundrum by-pass will be on the right). Continue straight, and at the next roundabout turn LEFT through the gates - this is Gort Muire. 4. From the South of Dublin - Use the N11, as far as Foxrock/ Stillorgan and then please follow the signs for the M50 and come through either Dundrum or the Sandyford Industrial Estate. 5. By Public Transport: By Bus from city centre (Hawkins Street): Take No. 48A to Ballinteer. Exit at stop at Wesley College - Follow directions from Tallaght below. Or take No. 44 to the LUAS Station/new Dundrum Shopping Centre. Walk up road to Right - towards M50. At first small roundabout, Gort Muire is on the left. By Bus from Dun Laoighre or Tallaght: Take the 75 to Ballinteer, exit at the stop at Wesley College. Gort Muire is on the same side of the road as Wesley College, at the next roundabout - towards Dundrum. There is a small group of shops opposite this busy junction. By LUAS: take Sandyford Line. Exit at station after Dundrum. Cross the road and walk towards M50/Ballinteer. Pass one large roundabout and at the small roundabout turn left into Gort Muire. 6. By Bike: There are cycle lanes all the way from the city centre.
